The spherical or aspherical lenses are used for mobile phones, car headlights or lighting optics. The profile, the position of the lenses in relation to the frame and any coatings on the lens must be measured. The measurement uncertainty requirements for imaging optics are very high, with tolerances ranging from 5 µm to 20 µm. The measuring time plays a subordinate role. Due to the small size of the lenses, holding them for measurement is a major challenge.
