TomoScope® S Plus in medical technology

TomoScope® S Plus for the measurement of blood glucose meters

The greatest challenge in the test procedures for glucose sensors is the visualisation of the needle sensor in the tissue layers of the artificial skin used.

In measuring machines for continuous blood glucose monitoring, an application system is used to place a needle sensor that must penetrate three layers of tissue of different densities on the patient. To test the application system, the entire blood glucose meter is captured with the TomoScope® S Plus. In particular, the mould, position and penetration depth of the needle sensor in artificial tissue are measured. The position and geometrical characteristics of the mechanical and electronic components are also determined.
The Werth longlife transmission source enables fast measurements with high structural resolution. With the help of Werth contour image processing, needle sensor and tissue layers can be measured in any cutting edge in the digital workpiece volume. MultiMaterialScan makes it possible for the first time to calculate separate measurement point clouds with subvoxel accuracy for several materials of different densities. This allows the point clouds of the different tissue layers to be faded out for a 3D representation of the application mechanism and needle sensor.
The new ClearCT and multi-spectral CT HR software processes enable high-resolution, low-artefact measurements to be taken in a short space of time, even on uncooperative workpieces or materials
