Spiral drill bits differ in their tip geometry according to the material to be cut. The diameters of spiral drill bits are usually between approx. 20 µm and 30 mm. In addition to the drill tip geometry, the diameter, core shape and taper are important parameters. The tolerance range of spiral drill bits is very large (approx. 5 µm to 50 µm). This results in moderate to very high requirements for measurement uncertainty. The measuring time should be very short.
